Few Cambodian photographers work and black and white but Mardy Suong does, looking at a strong photographic tradition. Lover of nature and biodiversity he continues his long journey with birds, one of his favorite topics. And he seems to play with them in the rectangle, showing how they occupy the space of the sky or water. He can shoot some portraits, moments of danse, rhythm and he is always very concern by the composition and the geometry. 

Born in Phnom Penh in 1981, he is a Cambodia Sony Alpha Ambassador since 2015 until now, a founder of Cambodia Street Photography and Cambodia Biodiversity Photography.

In photography field, he is a professional on Street, Landscape and Wildlife photography. He started photography since 2009. In 2013, he was the 1st Champion of Canon Photo Marathon of Cambodia, in 2015 and 2017, under cooperation with Embassy of Cambodia in Beijing, his artworks had been exhibited at Beijing, in 2016, with an aim to help Cambodian’s university students in South Korea, he ran a charitiable photo exhibition. In 2017, Photo Exhibition of The Month of Photography in Tokyo, Japan, in 2018, 3rd winner of Sony World Photography Award, in 2018, participated in Photo Project’s Exhibition with Photo Phnom Penh Festival 2018 at IFC, in April 2019, selected as 2nd best photo of The Best ASEAN Tourism Photo for the 32nd ASEANTA AWARDS OF EXCELLENCE program, In November 2019, participated in Photo Project workshop, organized by Angkor Photo Festival in Siem Reap. In 2022 he has published the first book of Cambodia Street Photography 2021, in 2023 he prepares to publish the second book of Cambodia Street Photography 2022 and in 2023 Cambodia Biodiversity Photography and has joint the Photo Exhibition of Bird photography with National Career and Productivity Fair 2023.
